Returns and Refunds

1. Cancellations

Either party can cancel an order before it is completed, free of charge, from the order screen. If the order has not been paid or handed over yet, cancelling is always the simplest resolution.

2. Defective or Mis-described Goods

If produce arrives spoiled, damaged, below the agreed grade, or materially different from the listing, open a dispute from the order screen within 48 hours of delivery or pickup. Describe the problem and, where possible, attach a photo. Most disputes are resolved directly between buyer and farmer - a replacement, a partial refund, or a full refund agreed in the order chat.

Because fresh produce is perishable, we ask that claims are raised promptly. Claims made more than 7 days after delivery are unlikely to be resolvable.

3. What Cannot Be Returned

Perishable goods cannot be returned for change of mind - a farmer cannot resell produce that has already been cut, packed, or transported. Returns are accepted for defective or mis-described goods only. We do not offer exchanges; where goods are agreed to be faulty, the remedy is a replacement or refund.

4. Refunds

When a disputed or cancelled order is refunded, the money goes back through the original payment channel - Pesepay for mobile money and card payments, or directly between the parties for cash and EcoCash arrangements. Refund timing depends on the payment provider. FarmPlace itself does not hold order funds and does not charge restocking fees.

5. Return Logistics

There is no central returns depot. If goods need to go back to the farmer, the buyer and seller agree on how - farmer collection, a listed transporter, or drop-off at the pickup point - inside the order conversation.
