Fresh food should be easier to find

People want fresh vegetables and produce they can trust, and farmers are growing it. The problem is connecting the two — that's the vision behind FarmPlace.

Fresh food should be easier to find

Introduction

Most people don't dream of living on junk food. They want fresh vegetables, good produce, and food they can feel good about feeding their families.

But wanting better food and being able to find it consistently are two different things.

The gap between wanting and finding

Where do you find farmers who sell fresh produce? How do you know what's available? And when you find a good source, can you rely on it next week?

For many people, the challenge isn't just affordability. It's access, visibility, and consistency:

  • Access: the nearest farmer selling tomatoes might be fifteen minutes away — but if you can't see them, they may as well not exist
  • Visibility: nobody publishes "what's ripe this week" anywhere you can actually look
  • Consistency: a good find once isn't a supply; it only counts if it holds up week after week

Meanwhile, farmers are growing it

Here's the part that makes the gap frustrating: farmers are already growing the very food people are looking for. The supply exists. The demand exists. The problem is that connecting the two isn't always straightforward.

A farmer with 500kg of onions ready Friday has no reliable way to tell the people who would happily buy them — and those buyers have no reliable way to ask.

What FarmPlace is building

That's the vision behind FarmPlace. We're building an agricultural marketplace that makes it easier to:

  • Discover farm products: browse live listings of crops, livestock, dairy, feed, and equipment near you
  • Connect directly with farmers: no broker, no call centre — buyers message the grower
  • See the food grow: the farmers feed posts real video updates from real fields, so trust isn't blind
  • Reserve before harvest: pre-orders let you lock your share while it's still in the ground

We believe getting fresh food from farm to table shouldn't have to be complicated — and farmers shouldn't struggle to reach the people who want what they grow.

Where we're headed

We're working toward a future where finding fresh, locally grown food becomes as easy as finding everything else online — and where farmers have better opportunities to reach their markets.

What if finding fresh produce was as easy as finding everything else online? That's the question we're answering, one farmer and one buyer at a time.

The food people want already exists, growing in fields nearby. FarmPlace exists to make that food findable.
