What exactly is FarmPlace?
A farm is bigger than the land it sits on. FarmPlace is a digital home for the whole agricultural ecosystem - everyone who grows, buys, moves, supplies, teaches, funds or creates around food.
By FarmPlace Team
When you hear the word farm, what comes to mind?
Perhaps a large piece of land filled with crops, cows grazing in open fields, chickens running around, or a busy marketplace where people haggle over prices.
But that is not necessarily FarmPlace.
Your FarmPlace could be your backyard vegetable garden, the room where you raise chickens, the small space where you grow vegetables, or a large commercial farming operation.
Agriculture is bigger than the physical farm
It is the farmer growing the produce, the buyer looking for it, the transporter moving it, the supplier providing inputs, the entrepreneur building an agricultural business, and the restaurant sourcing fresh ingredients.
It is also the schools and educational institutions teaching the next generation, the financial institutions supporting agricultural enterprises, and the content creators documenting the knowledge, experiences, and beauty of agriculture.
They all have a place in the agricultural ecosystem.
A digital environment for the whole ecosystem
That is what we are building with FarmPlace: a digital environment where the different people, businesses, and institutions involved in agriculture can connect, participate, and create opportunities.
Whether you are growing, buying, selling, supplying, transporting, teaching, investing, creating content, or simply exploring agriculture, there is a place for you.
What happens next
Over the next 14 days, we will break down what FarmPlace is, who it is for, what you can do on the platform, and the opportunities we are working to create to help you earn a living.
And once we launch on 15 November, we will start showing you how to use it, step by step.
FarmPlace is more than a marketplace. It is a place for the agricultural ecosystem.
